Surgical Training Course at the ITC
Our International Training Centre (ITC) based in India, is opening it's doors to vet graduates / students to attend a specially designed course to suit international participants.
You will learn about the importance of surgical dog population control in India and gain practical skills in performing spay/neuter surgeries. The ABC-surgery (Animal Birth Control) course includes practical surgery sessions in the operating theatre as well as lessons in the classroom. The focus of the course is in best recommended field practices that are relevant for the high volume ABC-clinics and programs in developing countries where large stray dog populations are a problem.
The ABC-surgery course is a great opportunity to those wishing to gain more confidence in routine soft tissue surgery, as well as for those who plan to work in ABC or other animal health, welfare & development programs in developing countries. Full supervision from experienced vets will ensure you have the backup and support you need to make the most of this learning experience.
As well as the surgical training and classroom theory, you will have a chance to explore the magical side of India. Afternoon walks through tea plantations, visiting local markets, shopping in the local town of Ooty, we will even take you through a nearby tiger reserve on your way to the ITC!!
