
Zambian Adventure

An adventure in to the heart of Africa. The WVS Zambian Adventure takes you behind the scenes of wildlife conservation organisations, while experiencing the natural beauty of this magnificent country. Meeting the people who are making a real difference in conservation and animal welfare, you will learn about the ongoing challenges and success stories they have encountered over the years. Visiting two very different national parks, you will soon start to tick off the ‘Big 5’ through walking and driving safaris. Finishing at the mighty Victoria Falls, this unique adventure will take you on a journey off the tourist trail, to see the ‘Real Africa’.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in the capital Lusaka and transfer to your 4 star hotel. Full trip briefing from your guide, followed by an optional city tour.
Day 2: Visit to the Lusaka Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) shelter. Learn about their incredible efforts to stop the illegal selling of puppies on the streets and join an outreach clinic to help animals in local communities.
Day 3: Munda Wanga Wildlife Sanctuary and Botanical Gardens. An active sanctuary that has been involved in many conservation programmes for over 50 years. You will have a chance to practice your animal identification and also explore the stunning botanical gardens.
Day 4: An early morning flight to the second largest national park in Africa, Kafue National Park. With beautiful views of Lake Itezhi Tezhi, your lodge is the perfect base for game drives and boat cruises to spot some of the many bird and animal species present in the park. An afternoon game drive will start you off.

Day 5: Morning game drive, followed by a visit to the Elephant Orphanage Project, to learn how they are rescuing, rehabilitating and then releasing baby elephants back in to the wild.
Day 6: Morning game drive in to Ngoma village. Visit the local school, before adventuring out on to the lake for an afternoon boat cruise.
Day 7: Transfer by plane to South Luangwa National Park. One of the top parks in Africa with some of the best game viewing around. Afternoon game drive.

Day 8: Visit to South Luangwa Conservation Society (SLCS). Here you will learn about the ongoing efforts to protect wildlife in the park and meet the people who put their life on the line to do this. Rescuing lions from snares and elephants from pits, the SLCS team are an incredible force that have saved thousands of animals. Your day will end with a nighttime game drive to spot nocturnal animals.
Day 9: Rest day – Recharge you batteries while chilling out to the sounds of wildlife that surround you. For those wishing to see more of the park, morning and afternoon game drives will be available, with optional walking safari.
Day 10: Your final day in South Luangwa will begin with a game drive and a chance to spot any animals not ticked off your wishlist. A transfer by plane will take you back to Lusaka.
Day 11: Transfer to the airport tocatch your flight back home.
Optional Livingstone trip

Day 11: Transfer by plane to Livingstone. Staying in one of the top lodges you will experience pure luxury on the banks of the Zambezi river. Visit to the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world.
Day 12: Optional activities including rafting, walking with lions, bungee jump, river cruise and game drives.
Day 13: Optional activities including rafting, walking with lions, bungee jump, river cruise and game drives.
Day 14: Optional activities followed by afternoon flight back to Lusaka.
Day 15: Flight back to the UK
